Biblical Stewardship and Creation Care
King James Version (KJV)
Psalm 115:16 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Christians should try to emulate the character of God
2 Peter 1:5-7
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
God created gardens and cares for the Earth
8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden;
65 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.
9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.
11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Since God cares for the Earth and Christians are to emulate the character of God, let us care for the Earth and others as well and Praise God for his wonderful creation of which he has entrusted us as stewards.
